long time no see…

Major fail this year on the site updates for sure…will address that from here on out. The recent mild weather has meant that the leaves have been late in falling this year, last weeks’ high winds pulled the remaining off and its now full on clearance season…about a third complete now but still loads to go; OCD time for me…I do like stuff to stay tidy!!

Changing the volcano on the skatepark line was not a success this year so we decided it needed to be revisited again, unfortunately Scott, BEaN and Paul didn’t supervise the work so a nameless individual was allowed to vandalise it and destroy the lovely pump down for the next set…’nuvva rebuild methinks.

Gay line is being totally revamped; second set has been turned into a roller and the third set now has a bigger right side line to make the last section work properly. The first set has been knocked down and is being rebuilt so we can run a straight line from the smaller start mound and but retain a hipped start from the original start…should make for some fun trains when it’s done!!

Planning permission news will follow in the next couple of weeks…

Now now Ian. Just bacuase you couldn’t jump the volcano don’t mean it was shit. Wait and see what comes along and you may like it.

  2. Steve says:

How can you say it sucks when you never even jumped it? But I agree that there was nowt wrong with the roller in that set up, it just won’t work with what’s going there next. Pick up a spade and give me a hand next time your down and it’ll all be made clear sooner, you never know you might like/ride what goes up next.

here comes the salt!! to be honest its gona be hard to put feelings in writing here without pissing people off so i wont. disscussions next dig sesh me thinks.

Am trying not to be salty, but it’s a bit difficult when you spend a whole 18 months getting a line running for someone who hasn’t rode it or helped in either of the two rebuilds to then throw in his two cents about how he thinks it sucks. Im more than happy to include people in a discussion about it, but last time I dug there the only people to discuss it with was Paul and Scott and neither objected to what I was doing. I know that neither you or Ian was that keen on the new larger volcano so I decided (with Bruce and Paul’s agreement) to change it into a jump box. The idea was to build something that everyone can ride and won’t fall to pieces in a month of it being dry. I’m happy to discuss the options next time in down there but I wish people would ask what was happening to a line rather than calling other peoples hard work ‘vandalism’

I believe that the whole line COULD be made better, thus involving the volcano being turnt into a jump box. BUT, it will take a hell of a lot of work to do so! Alot more work than a part-time park rat can handle on his own ;)

O, and less of the ‘trail politics’, we all know that drives people away! tested and proven!!!

All I was told prior to seeing it yesterday was “wait and see what Steve has done to the Volcano!” from all parties; that doesn’t sound much like a supportive statement to me. I did ride the volcano this year and concurred with everyone elses opinion; it was better the year before…which is why we are going to reinstate it. Steve, I’m glad that you have finally started to ride LG regularly but two years digging and riding makes you neither an omniscient presence at the woods or a trail boss; wind your neck in sunshine.

i cant overlook what everyone is doing at once my concern is the gay line ..what i i think has been done is cack ,but was more concerned about the gay line to take any notice of what was going on till it was to late yes it is to thin and there is a few other issues but this is why we try to get every party involved this should be sorted in a sunday committee not online where it comes across wrong , (hard work) tut ..the words from my mouth were to change ,but to take add more dirt not shift sides .to steve i also think the job you have done needs addressing… but the less salt the better

If the common opinion of people is to change it back to how it was then fine. But last time I was down there no one objected to the change. Am more than happy to discuss this when the next dig sesh happens. I am not trying to be a trail boss or an omnipotent presence, but maybe consider how people may view the slating of there hard work when you only turn up once in a blue moon and throw opinions around.

Banter Stevo that’s all and shared banter at that. As for time put in at LG the only person that can Lord over me is Scott and he’s too sensible for that…see you on Saturday I hope.
